Explore Auroville, the City of Dawn, a destination that resonates with those embracing idealistic values. This international community is devoted to peace, sustainability, and ‘divine consciousness,’ bringing people together worldwide. The community here encourages introspection and connection. Situated northwest of Puducherry, Auroville was established in 1968 by ‘the Mother,’ co-founder of Puducherry’s Sri Aurobindo Ashram. We will also see the striking Matrimandir, meaning ‘Temple of the Mother’, a beautiful spherical temple of interlaced gold discs and 12 architectural ‘petals’ that each contain a meditation room, from a viewpoint.
